The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is one of the world’s premier biomedical research and health science education universities in the world.
Project6 Design overhauled the branding, print collateral and websites for the entire Student Academic Affairs division. The project included 14 logos, several print templates, PowerPoint templates, and 10 individual Drupal CMS managed websites.
Student Academic Affairs (SAA) is made up of 10 departments that provide a wide-range of quality services to students, scholars and educators at the University of California, San Francisco. The goal of the project was to take each department from their previous state and, working collaboratively with each department on content development, deploy functional, accessible, user-friendly and user-focused websites. In addition, SAA was also looking to develop visual representation (logos and marketing collateral) for SAA and all SAA departments that would reflect how SAA fits into the UCSF Strategic Plan but still would be driven in part by the unique values and messages that each department lends.
The various departments that comprise the SAA Division already had a certain amount of recognition on campus and individual identities that should be streamlined, but not squelched. To achieve this, SAA required a tiered branding/identity strategy that included logos for various SAA departments as well as for the SAA Division and marketing collateral packages that would include templates and guidelines for fliers, emails, newsletters, signage, and posters.
